Picking up speed...... and a birthday celebration!

Does it feel like everything is moving at 2x speed for you? One benefit to developing this illness during the time of quarantine is that everyone else was at a standstill with me. It's been hard for me to slowly watch the country start opening up and realize that I just can't keep up.

I started my antibiotic regimen on Monday. Each week I will be adding the next medicine until all 3 are simultaneously working to combat this lung infection. No side effects so far, which is to be anticipated since the first antibiotic is Azithromycin, pretty basic.

That's a lot of pills... and that's just the first refill of many, many to come

I also got the first shot of the Covid-19 Vaccine! Pfizer is what was offered for military and their dependents at Lackland, and I get my second shot in 3 weeks. I'm not gonna lie, after the year I've had I was slightly emotional to have this opportunity. I've heard that some who have dealt with the long haul symptoms of Covid have had some relief after they got the vaccine. While this MAC lung thing is likely not Covid related, I'm hoping that the antibiotics plus the vaccine might give my body the boost it needs to start moving past some of this. One can hope!

Since I last blogged, Cade has had a bit of his own adventure. For his birthday present this year, in keeping with the theme of making memories and not just getting 'stuff', we flew Cade out to Seattle by himself for a visit with his good friend from our time in Colorado, Caleb. Caleb is the son of Amy, who was with me in Destin! I'll share a few pictures with you, but leave all the story telling for Cade to write on his own blog. Our computer died, so it's taking him a little longer, but it'll be up soon I'm sure.

Cade got back a day before his birthday and was thrown right back into a very busy school week with STAAR testing, band rehearsals and a UIL band recording/competition. I guess it's a sign of getting older when your actual bday is too busy to really celebrate. However, the lucky kid also got a birthday party on top of his trip to Seattle. Covid took away his party last year, and we're moving soon, so why not have friends over!? :)

Cade said Alex could make his cake for the party and Alex totally delivered! My sister had made this awesome burger cake for her son Kyle in March so we asked if we could copy and give it a try too. Check it out!

And here's the party crew. They watched Godzilla vs Kong, ate pizza, drank soda, played games and of course had some cake and ice cream. Hope you had an awesome birthday Cade! Can't believe you're already 15 and ready to drive!

Jackbox games!
