Lunar Eclipse

Last Sunday there was a Super Lunar Eclipse. Full moon, plus lunar eclipse, plus a super moon because it was really close to Earth, made for a spectacular moon. It was great to witness, even though our pictures don't do it ANY justice :)

Once it was fully eclipsed it turned red and was beautiful.

My friend's Dad took this picture

Fall in Colorado

We've finally had a few days that feel like fall, and I'll be honest, it feels great. We've been in the high 80s for quite awhile and I was yearning for that fall chill in the air. (I also want our first deep freeze so my allergies can take a chill pill!)

Last Friday, even though I was exhausted from a long week at work, Dan talked me into riding up into the mountains with him to see the aspen trees changing colors. I was very close to not going, but I knew the fresh mountain air would be just what I needed. I was right. Oh my was it beautiful.

We were ready to go when the sun came out and just made this area glow!

I don't ever want to leave this place!

I had a birthday!

And it was fabulous!

The day started off as a normal work day and ended with fun celebrations.

Dan surprised me and came into work with flowers! I was in the middle of a choir class, and he booted me off the piano so he could play and have the kids sing happy birthday to me. It was sooo sweet! Too bad I have no pictures or video of it :)

Then after work I came out to my car and found it decorated with sweet messages and balloons from my friends Amy, Becky and Janel. I felt so loved!

Then it was time to celebrate. My mom and brother drove down from Denver to have a yummy dinner with us. I picked out the menu of steak, potatoes and salad, and Dan helped me put it all together. It was SOOO delicious!

Then of course it was time for cake and presents. That means cookie cake! And thank you for the Kohl's gift cards, I was able to buy some more work clothes with the next Kohl's sale!

The next day I crossed another item off our bucket list: horseback riding at the Garden of the Gods. The weather was beautiful and so was the ride. The boys even got to go on a pony ride and then hike around with Grandma Kathy and Uncle Kevin while we rode our horses. Ready for lots of pictures? :) It was so much fun, even if I was sore afterwards.

These pictures are from Kevin while he was hiking with the boys

They found us on the trails while we were riding and they were hiking!

Here are a few pictures from my mom!

And then pictures from Dan and I! It was just too beautiful of a place and day not to take a million pictures! ;)

I just love Pikes Peak in the background!

Thanks for a wonderful birthday! I'm so excited for another year!
